Day 364: Magazine Layout

Here is my take on a magazine tutorial. I spent quite a while rewriting the instructions so I can use this in my class. I like the picture and colors I used much better than the original.

Day 363: When Pugs Attack

Another shot of my vicious dog attacking a St. Bernard named Lucy. Multiple layers, blending modes, filters and adjustments. It reminds me of a pulp western painted book cover.

Day 357: Gel Text

When I assigned my class to find their own text effects several students did this tutorial. I liked the overall look so much that I had to try it out. The technique was relatively quick and the inclusion of the top copy of the text adds the perfect amount of text bevel!

Day 353: Button Text

I experimented with a old school video game button style over another styled text.

Day 352: Smoke Filled Text

The smoke effect inside of the layer style is a bit funky.

Day 351: Gold Rust

Another straight forward text effect using a series of layers styles. I like the background I made using several textures and a color overlay.

Day 350: Rusty Metal Layer Style

I'm going with some quick and dirty layer styles to play check up from the sheer volume of yearbook work I've been buried under. I'm not overly excited about closing out my 365 days with such simple effects but my time is limited and my workload is not!

A rubbery basketball text effect. If you zoom in the texture looks more realistic.

Day 338: Winston

At the PugMeetup I took a great picture of Winston (a 15 year old pug). I applied several different colorpencil and painting effects, some lighting and some sharpening.
