Roadtrip Barney
I took my dog on a short roadtrip along the coast of California. We found a rest stop near Pismo Beach and he posed on the train tracks for me. A few curves adjustments, some fill color layers, some sharpening and viola...

Commie Cosmonaut Pug
I found a fantastic (although long) tutorial to create this image. Using a series of stock images and tons of blending modes, I thoroughly enjoyed following this author's technique. I deviated a bit because several of the images he used were not available without a watermark (plus I had to work in an image of Barney :)

Barney G is Money!
I'm experimenting with displacement maps and bitmap halftones in an attempt to replicate the portraiture style found on our currency. Not too shabby but it would worked better with a lighter face (human).

Text Portrait
Time consuming process of creating separate brushes for each word. Posterized then select black and brush words individually with size variations. Create another layer and fill with a pattern of the same words. Expand selection around words to get the outline of the letters. Repeat steps for the Dark Grey areas, then again for the light grey. Add color. I then added two additional copies of the original posterized image, adjusted the blending modes to bring more of the original image out.

Day 363: When Pugs Attack
Another shot of my vicious dog attacking a St. Bernard named Lucy. Multiple layers, blending modes, filters and adjustments. It reminds me of a pulp western painted book cover.

Day 341: Barney Gallop
More pug pictures from Saturday. This time I showcase Barney with all four feet off of the ground (although only a little bit).

Day 338: Winston
At the PugMeetup I took a great picture of Winston (a 15 year old pug). I applied several different colorpencil and painting effects, some lighting and some sharpening.

Day 337; Painted Pugs and Wife
So I'm already back to using the faux painting techniques again. This time I used a picture from a recent pug meet up at a park.

Day 258: Yearbook ID Cards
Here is the rough draft layout for my Yearbook ID cards. It should be no surprise that I used Barney as my test student... it's a sickness!

Day 248: War Barney
More propaganda... I took inspiration from a WWII tutorial I found online. I was somewhat limited with how much I could crop the image since the original photo of Barney was cropped at the ears. Overall I really like the finished piece.

Day 213: Commie Pug
Barney is poised to take over the free world and expand his benevolent dictatorship to the unwashed masses. Join now... it's inevitable!
